Our Story
Jinlab Agro Products is a story of passion, hard work, and quality. Our founder, Kalyan Mahat, was inspired by the struggles of farmers in his rural village in Bhutan and set out to create a solution. Jinlab Agro Products was founded in 2020 with the aim of providing a sustainable source of market for Bhutanese farmers by adding value to their crops. Despite the challenges posed by the pandemic, the company was officially licensed in 2021 and quickly made a name for itself with its high-quality, organic products.
Starting with just one product, Kiwi Jam, Jinlab Agro Products has since developed a range of 27
premium, seasonal products within two years, all aimed at alleviating farmers' income. Mahat started small, working with a small group of farmers to transition to organic production. Over time, he expanded the product line and built relationships with retailers and distributors to get Jinlab's products in the hands of consumers in Bhutan, Sikkim, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Taiwan, Switzerland and Australia through premium retail stores, as well as online through Druksell in Bhutan.
Today, Jinlab offers a range of organic products which are: spices, premium fresh fruit jams, native honey, exotic honey, essential oils, Shilajit (Himalayan rock minerals) using locally available and sustainable materials and maintaining the highest quality standards. We prioritise the use of organic or natural ingredients and minimise the use of chemicals, synthetic flavours and colours, and preservatives.

Our Competencies
At Jinlab Agro Products, we prioritise food safety and quality management in every aspect of our operations. Our primary producer, the organic farm, is staffed by a team with 150 years of collective experience in farming. In our processing unit, all employees are certified food handlers by the Bhutan Agriculture & Food Regulatory Authority and the CEO has received training in food safety management practices from the International Trade Centre.
Our commitment to quality, consistency, and customer satisfaction is unwavering, as we strive to provide the best products possible. We take pride in our strict adherence to food safety and quality standards, ensuring that every product we deliver meets the highest standards of quality and safety.
Our Community
At Ashish Horticulture & Nursery, we support Bhutanese farmers by promoting the cultivation of high-value crops such as kiwi, avocado, ginger, and turmeric using either Good Agricultural Practices or organic methods. Our goal is to increase rural income by providing affordable kiwi and avocado seedlings, and offering free plantation and orchard management consulting. We take pride in sourcing raw materials from local Bhutanese farmers and only importing preservatives, sugar, and necessary ingredients that are not readily available in the country. Our Team
At Jinlab Agro Products, we believe in working together to deliver the best to our customers. Our dedicated team comprises 5 experienced professionals and 5 seasonal helpers, who are supported by over 50 local farmers. We are proud to source our raw materials directly from the farm, ensuring the highest quality and freshness in every product.
Our founder is actively involved in every step of the process, from sourcing the finest raw materials to overseeing production and quality control. All our staff have received Food Handling certification from BAFRA and our founder is trained in Food Safety Management by the International Trade Centre.
Food hygiene and safety are of utmost importance to us, and we take great care to ensure our products are safe for consumption. Our commitment to quality and food safety sets us apart and we strive to deliver only the best to our customers.
